NVC taking too long

Hello all,

Our petition was approved on August 19, 2013 and the NVC still hasn't received our package from the California Center. I called both NVC and USCS and they told me it takes 2-3 months. USCIS told me that if NVC doesn't receive it by October 19 that I should call back and they will send a request to NVC.

I have noticed that for other people on this board it doesn't take so long. Or does it? Is this normal?

I just posted about the same concern... our petition was approved on August 16th and it has still not received the NVC... It seems like there is something wrong but maybe we just have bad luck and need to be more patient :-(

(V/T/C)SC are taking their sweet time in shipping approved cases to the NVC.

If you have not gotten a notification that your case has been sent to NVC, then your case is likely still at the (V/T/C)SC. You can call the USCIS customer service line to check this, if you doubt the online case status page.

NVC is stating that it takes up to 8 weeks for USCIS to ship approved/reaffirmed cases to them. This means that your case is likely just waiting in the backlogged queue. The trend seems to be about 6 weeks currently.

I was approved 7/26 and my case wasn't shipped until 9/4.

If your unsure of where your case is at... call the USCIS customer service line, once you give the Tier 1 Rep (the first person you talk to) your case information so they can bring up your file, ask to be transferred to a Tier 2 Rep. They'll offer you a call back service in 3-5 business days or the choice to wait. Choose to wait; the wait is typically around 2 hours. If you're calling from a US number you can opt into the automated call back service which will call you back once your up in the queue. You won't lose your place in line, but it helps so you don't have to wait holding a phone to your head for 2 hours.

HI Im having the same concern.. We were approved on August 22th, and we havent received anything yet.

The only thing to do..is wait! :/

I was having the same concern. I received a notice that September 9th my case was transferred to the NVC. I called them today and they said they received it and gave me my case number. I was shocked.
