Hi All,

I'm new to this forum and would appreciate some feedback on my OPT situation. My OPT application was received by USCIS on June 24, 2013. On a friends suggestion, I called the 1-800-375-5283 Customer Service number on September 4th to place a request for an expedited processing since I had got a job offer. CS rep. mentioned that the reason would fall under financial loss since I had an offer already however did not ask me to submit any documentation(offer letter, status etc.) and only told that I'd get a response from them soon on whether or not it'll be expedited.

I got an email from USCIS on the same day (Sept. 4th) stating that my expedite request was received and had this message:

"Your case is currently being adjudicated. You should receive a notice of action* within 30 days.

*A notice of action may be in a form of Approval Notice, Denial Notice, Transfer Notice, Request for Evidence, Notice of Intent to Deny or Notice of Intent to Revoke."

My status on the USCIS website shows "Initial Review" and its going to be 90 days on 9/24 since filing. I'm worried and concerned about this whole "expedite" process now. Was I supposed to submit any documents on my own even though I wasn't asked? I'm wondering if I messed up my case by opting for the expedite option since regular processing has almost reached the 90 day period.

What are the possible outcomes and options for me now? Has anyone else gone through this state? If yes, can you please share your experience?

Please advice or guide me to take the correct steps forward.

Thanks for any and all the help.

Your expedite was 3 weeks ago, have you been working in that time?

canadian_wife: No, I haven't been working.

KaeR: I did check with the school. The DSO at school has never come across such a case and asked me to wait until my 90 days processing time on my application is completed.

It seems like I have to wait for 30 days (or even more) from the day I placed the expedite request. USCIS did not honor the five days to expedite in my case. My hope of getting the OPT sooner didn't work out and the processing time has now gone beyond 90 days.
