My wife is a Russian citizen. We have been together 3 years, married since December and filed her I-130 March 14 with her address in Russia. We have not made any progress and it's at the National Processing Center. My wife plans to visit on her b2 in January we would like her to be able to stay as long as possible to wait for her I-130 to be finished. I hope by then we will at least have an interview date. Can we file for an extension on her b2 if we run out of time before her visa is approved? I've read that I can file the I-485 but I'm not sure if that is the same as AOS because I want to avoid any dual intent issues. Also is it possible to change the location of the interview to have it in the U.S. instead of Moscow? If so whats the best way to do that. Thank you for any advice you can give. Thanks!

We do not want her to immigrate on her b2 but simply to have extra time in the US to wait for her I-130. Can we file an extension to allowe her to stay longer? Would it be an issue if she overstays considering she is married to a US Citizen? And would it be possible to change the consolate for the interview to one in the USA. I assuem at this point the I-485 is a AOS and has no other purpose?

I-485 is for AOS, she shouldn't try this as she already has immigrant intent shown. Coming to the US with a pending I-130 and attempting to AOS is pretty clear intent. Also keep in mind that she may be questioned and/or denied entry on a tourist visa.

She can apply for an extension of the tourist visa once she is here but the chances of approval are small without a better reason than "we don't want to be apart".
