Hello,

My family will be traveling to Romania to visit with my wife and kids' relative this Christmas. In looking at flights to book, one flies through Canada. Does anyone know if Canada has any sort of requirements for a transit visa? We're just connecting in Toronto, not staying in Canada or going out of the airport. The wife and kids are LPRs with US green cards along with RO passports.

Reason I'm asking is a friend had issues flying through New Zealand recently due to their transit visa policy. I'd never heard of such a thing before, so I thought it best to check here before diving into Canadian websites searching for the answer.

Based on what I've read, having the GC should let your family transit through Canada's Int'l airport without a visa (the GC bypasses the Tempary Resident Visa requirement, which is what you would need to get a transit visa).
