Just received a phone call from USEM asking for the original copy of my fiance's divorce decree. This sucks. They should have asked for the original copy since they instructed me to drop documents at 2GO and not 'a copy'..Oh well. I must still be thankful that I know my case is really on AP and has continuous updates..

If you do not have that, (luckily) your fiance can email a copy, have him make sure that the court stamps show up clearly and that all pages are there/complete.

Thanks Hank, what I sent them was a scanned copy of my fiance's divorce decree, but still insist on having the original document. Anyway, my fiance sent his original divorce decree to the USEM already via fed ex so it could arrive there this week.

That is very unusual that they ask for an original, but keeping USEM happy is the name of the game at this moment.

When you get to AOS you may be able to get them to make a copy and give the original back.

You are right.. the man from USEM who called me yesterday promised to give us back the original documents as soon as they see the original copy. I just think that some portions are not that clear, because the 1st divorce decree my fiance has was way back 1984. It's just a good thing that he has the original copy of those documents (Thank's GOD) :)

Thanks Hank :)

Ahhh, that explains everything, totally understandable now. Thought USEM was getting extra picky suddenly... whew!
