Advance Parole Expiry

Hi guys! My fiance and I are planning to get married in the US in July 2014. However, we would like to have our religious ceremony back in her home country. In order to go about this we will file for a K-1 visa and once were are back in the States we will proceed with the Civil wedding. After this we plan of obtaining an advanced parole in order to go back to her home country. My question is how long till the advanced parole expires? Is there a time limit on how long we can be out of the States? Is there any guarantee that my fiance will be able to reenter the states? Many thanks in advance.

AP is usually issued within 90 days once you've applied for it, and is valid for one year from the date of issue.

To my knowledge there is no upper limit on how long you can be outside the US, but obviously since you're applying for a green card then you should try to keep overseas visits to weeks and perhaps a couple of months, tops, because it doesn't look good to want a green card but aren't living in the US.

Re-entry is not guaranteed on AP, but in the absence of negative factors (such as at least 180 days of overstay) then you should be fine to use it.
