Sounds like a threat to me. There is no other reason why that would even be mentioned by the USC other than to intimidate the petitioner.

Threat vs abuse.....two very different things, me thinks.

Threat vs abuse.....two very different things, me thinks.

Abuse is the improper usage or treatment of an entity, often to unfairly or improperly gain benefit. Abuse can come in many forms, such as: physical or verbal maltreatment, injury, sexual assault, violation, rape, unjust practices; wrongful practice or custom; offense; crime, or otherwise verbal aggression.[1]

Is it possible that once the "victim" here knew she was getting her greencard that she changed??? Has anyone ever heard of a beneficiary using an American to get a green card?

Sure, anything is possible. We don't even know if there is a true victim here or not. But if the husband did threaten the wife with deportation, then he is guilty of abuse.

That's your opinion and I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. But as you stated we don't know much of anyhting...let alone the words that were exchanged between the two.

I am sorry how misinformed you are. He threatened his wife with deportation. That is verbal abuse. VAWA doesn't require a high burden of proof.

Wrong on both counts. One instance of threatening to have his wife deported would not come anywhere remotely close to verbal abuse, and VAWA does require a high standard of proof.

Seems like a lot of emotional posts in here.....................

Could it be because the "abuse" complaint is often abused? Often times the very person being accused of being an abuser is in fact the person that is being abused, sometimes physically and/or emotionally. Perhaps posters are sensitive to this because so many false cases of abuse are filed every year and unfortunatlely many are just plain baloney sausage.

It's somewhat ridiculous how fast this thread shifted into a debate on abuse when the OP made no mention of abuse whatsoever.

Fantastic observation!! That was my initial observation also. But then the often mis-used "abuse" word keeps rearing it's ugly head.

This thread is abuse of VJ. VJ gonna file VAWA on us.

I did chuckle when I read the post has anyone ever heard of a beneficiary using a USC to get a green card. LOL.

When her husband threw her out she have bruises, we took picture of it. She is convinced that she is not going to come back to her husband because she is afraid that he will continue abusing her. Her husband keep messaging her on facebook threatening that she have no right to stay her, without him knowing that her green card is approved. We don't give any details to him so that he wont bother her anymore.
