Uh, what news from yer petitioner, to talk with a Tier 2 Human at USCIS, confirming it actually left USCIS and actually went to NVC?

There's been lots of evidence here for mis-routing, and a month ago, I suggested you tell yer fella this, to hunt down the approved case file via Tier 2 Human at USCIS or a Congressional Immigration Liason Staffer with a Congressman's Office.

What's up ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Congratulations on your approval ! We All Applaud your accomplishment with Most Wonderful Kissies !

10 ways govt shutdown would hurt America 8 Visa delays likely

Thousands of Americans may not be able to get passports for foreign travel, and tourists travelling to the US will likely face delays in visa processing. During the last government shutdown in 1996-97, some 20,000-30,000 applications remained unprocessed daily.

omg were does this leave us ??

does anyone know any more details on this ?

As far as I know, visa processes will continue as long as funds do not run out. So, surely that could be a few days if running while the government is shutdown. On average, shutdowns do not last longer than 3 days, but of course, there is always the chance it could be longer. I think or now we are all okay, but we will see what the future holds!

With the US Government in partial shut down mode will our visa still be approved? Our interview date for I129-F is scheduled for Oct 7th? I have sent out an email to the US Embassy in Bangkok but have no reply yet.
Can anyone remember what happened 17 years ago? My flight to BKK is in about 36 hours. Just what we needed to add to the stress level.

I find on line that the Embassies will stay open but parts of Homeland Security will close?

will the below affect our fiance visa?
Consulates/Embassies: Sorry, we’re closed

While embassies and consulates in foreign countries will continue to operate, at least for the day today unless they’re already out of cash, the US State Department might not be able to process visa applications, which means that if you’ve applied for and are awaiting the issuing of a US visa, you might be in for, at best, delays and, at worst, rejection.

I thought the most important part of the article, for those with NOA2 at least, is:

While the US State Department is in a much better state of readiness this time around – they’re planning to continue processing visas through the shutdown since those operations are largely funded by fees collected – if the shutdown enters into a protracted period, salaries of consulate staff that need to be issued by the US government will be impacted, so expect further delays.

What happened last time is visa delays (I don't know if that was immediate or not) but this time the DOS says they will still process passports and visas. However, no word on how long they would be able to go on fees alone. Read previous postings saying things will keep going, the idea everything will be delayed was based on history. I'm a bit worried too about how long the shutdown lasts versus how long the consulates can stay open. My fiancé's interview is the 8th so I also emailed the consulate but they might not even know yet if the interview will happen. It's stressful for sure but all you can do now is go with they will still do the interview until you hear otherwise.
