Don't you suppose there's a reason for all this AP? Seriously, wish the AP my husband had would've opened my eyes and I wouldn't be in the mess I'm in now.

what are you trying to say?

Nothing better to do than troll, eh? The length of AP is not a reflection of an individual. It is mostly a process of elimination, mainly names against intelligence. Department of State has absolutely no pressure or reason to complete background checks quickly. Sometimes they do investigations for fraud, but if fraud is determined, the beneficiary will be refused a visa. But the Department of State can't be responsible for YOUR bad choices. You married the guy, if he ended up being a bad apple no one is at fault but you for failing to get to know him well enough and the fallout of your decision to bring him to the US is no one's problem but your own.

I'm just stating the facts. I wore those rose colored glasses. Seen many women who continue to wear those glasses. I've been around this block for quite some time and can safely say about 95% of the MENA marriages do not work out. These men know exactly what to say to women to make us fall in love. They just want a free ride out of there country. Believe me, I've been there and will never do it again. I just hate seeing friends continuing to fall prey to these men and have their hearts & bank accounts broke. I know there good men out there, don't get me wrong, just be careful ladies. And to the OP. It's CAIRO :)

That may be but lack of AP would not help anyone who chooses to ignore red flags in their relationship. This is an AP thread not a MENA men are dirtbags and scammers thread. Not saying that what you're saying is untrue, just that AP wouldn't reveal if a guy has bad intentions. It's up to the individual to protect themselves and not become blinded by "love" and sweet talk.

In all my years on this board there may have been maybe one or two people who have taken heed of warnings. Out of hundreds, one or two. Most people must learn for themselves.

Ooh! Ooh! I love statistics that are pulled right from the rectum! How much and what type of in depth statistical analysis have you done to get that number? What calculations were made? From where did you retrieve this data and which pieces of data were relevant? How do you quantify a "bad marriage"? I do statistical analysis for a living, dear. Maybe people find it boring but I love numbers. I love analysis. It's a hobby of mine to make light of dubious "statistics".

I do agree that women should be smart, and not enough are. There are definitely a lot of scammers out there. But I see no difference between a foreigner younger man who marries a woman for a green card and a domestic younger man who marries a woman for her money. I see plenty of that going on as well.

None of this has to do with the main reason men from MENA countries go through AP. You know that, you are just really bitter and looking for an outlet. It's understandable but it's not healthy. You should take up meditation.

If someone were to cut me a check for a cool million dollars, I'd be happy to do a multi-decade longitudinal study on American petitioners and their MENA partners. Best I can do is correlation. You will never hear me say that "social science" is real science. Until such a study has concluded, no way to go beyond opinion and supposition.
