And no doubt it was in a country in which the USA provides their national defense...... freeing up lots of money for them to spend on programs they other wise could not float.

Worth a shot but no.

You must have missed this: "The US system - the most inefficient in the world - delivers adequate care to 80% or so of the population at a per capita cost of more than 200% of what effective healthcare systems cost to deliver adequate care to 100% of their populations."

Other countries spend less on their healthcare systems delivering care no worse than what people here can expect (if they have access and can actually afford it) and yet reach all of their people. It's not about them spending less money on defense (which they also do) or about the US paying for their defense freeing up funds for healthcare there. That's not what happens. They simply have a more efficient system in place. A system far superior to ours.

The fact that medical care is a for-profit business is, I think, the problem.

In my family, if someone is sick, I take care of them without wondering how they'll reimburse me for my time. We need to treat each other more like family.

What would Xenu do?

Obamacare is pretty crappy.

Doesn't change the fact that the ACA is practically a copy of the plan that Gingrich pushed in 1993 as an alternative to Hillarycare.

Here's a side-by-side comparison. http://www.kaiserhealthnews.org/Graphics/2010/022310-Bill-Comparison.aspx

You call it "deflection", I call it what it is: fact.

So, for the record,

It is a "fact" =

1) Dems had 17 years to review & consider a plan Gingrich pushed in 1993

2) Adopted it, tweaked it a little and then Passed it

3) O signed it into law

& a small bonus = 4) You think it's "pretty crappy" & I agree with you except I think it's "Very Crappy". (not completely crappy...but...very)

So I ask you...Just how F-ing stupid are the Democrats...no "?" mark...coz it's rhetorical. Answer = Very F-ing stupid.

I watched Snake Salvation on Nat Geo last night.

Ol' boy got bit by a cotton Mouth and they did not even go to the doctor

They prayed him well

If I get real sick I am going to ask my VJ brothers and sisters to pray me well

I don't need no stinking health care

Look, there is a difference between that which should get done and that which actually can get done. Healthcare reform was never going to be a single, fix-it-all project. It will be a project that will span decades and many pieces of legislation. Obamacare is the first. And it was decades in the making. Is it perfect? No. Is it great? No. Is it a start down the right path? I think it is.

And I am not alone. Republicans think so, too. See, Republicans aren't fighting Obamacare tooth and nail because they think it will largely fail. If they really thought that, they'd just sit back and let it fail to then swoop in and offer the elctorate to repeal it if given the majorities. If the public would hate it so much, they'd get the majorities and thus the mandate to rid the nation of Obamacare. But they're not doing that. Why?

Well, they're not sitting there letting Obamacare implode and are instead fighting the implementation of the final phase because they are afraid. They are afraid that the implementation that's coming will soon settle that smoke that they've spent hundreds of millions of dollars putting out there. People will understand what Obamacare actually is and what it is not (there will be no death panels, no bureaucrats in the doctors office, no IRS agents making health care decisions, and whatever other ridiculous lies Republicans have spent years spreading). People will come to appreciate the step forward that this law actually represents.

Republicans know that they can't take away the beneficial provisions that people will like and they know that they can't take the mandate or the financing out of the law without blowing up the deficit. In short, rather than believing that Obamacare will fail, they're scared to death that Americans will actually like Obamacare. Don't take my word for it, Ted Cruz admitted that very point.

And then who are going to be the stupid mofos? That's right. Republicans. Because they chose to play checkers when the game is chess.

I think your idea but why does your care only go as far as medical care, if people can't eat they surely die, shouldn't food also be free, I mean do you charge your kids to eat?

If we are a family we should act like one..... which includes me borrowing your truck and lawn mower next week.

Here's what I think about ObamaCare -

IMO - in this century, it is the most polarizing 'topic' for the Congress. It's a shame it wasn't enacted firstly in 2009. Why in 2009, you ask? We'd have 4 years of historical data on it...

Well, they're not sitting there letting Obamacare implode and are instead fighting the implementation of the final phase because they are afraid........etc.

1) It is not a start but another dagger in the back of the middle class. Who will ultimately benefit from ACA?

A) Corporations- It's already happening = Downsizing work week. Less qualify for pensions. Less workers comp fees. Less employment perks (vacation/ sick leave/ 401k contributions). Less employment liability. More independent contract labor...etc. etc.

B) The Gov- Increased revenue -billions and billions of fees paid to Uncle Sam by Insurance companies... well.. by We the People via the insurance companies. & reduced Gov expense as entitlement costs are passed on to the tax payer.

C) Insurance companies- Less coverage provided at higher costs. Doesn't take a CPA to figure out how that benefits Insurance companies.

D) Unions- SEIU & others will make a killing as membership increases. SEIU will assist in administration & organize medical professionals.

E) Various ancillaries - Medical equipment / pharmaceuticals etc.

2) laughing.gif Sure. I think GOP fondness for ACA is very evident in the House. rolleyes.gif Do you swallow all this without chewing? laughing.gif

3) The GOP is doing exactly what got them elected in prior Midterms. They promised = "do whatever it takes to repeal ACA". I know Dems don't care how many times their "leadership" lies to them. They drink the Kool-Aid and take it with a smile. wink.png I think the current GOP voter mindset = Even if it makes you look like complete fools in Ozombie world...keep dancing if ya want to keep your job. Dancing = mmmmm...remind me..how many times has the House voted to repeal ACA...?

The rest doesn't require a response coz = it's just more liberal hate the GOP - Psychobabble. tongue_ss.gif

You always mix a good glass of Kool-Aid...but ... sorry... I ain't drinking it. wink.png
