Below is the interim reply our office received in response to our inquiry on your behalf. Our office has been in contact the USCIS Local Field Office with your concerns. I will be in touch with you again as soon as I have something further to report.

After a review of our systems Form I-485 for Ryan was transferred to the USCIS local Field Office on 09/04/2013 for further processing. The NBC no longer has jurisdiction over this case. You will need to contact the local Field Office for further assistance. I hope this information helps.

You are not considered to be over unless your local office is processing your NOA1 date. It is currently taking 8-10 months to process GC.

If you were getting an interview, you would have known after biometrics were completed. Check the processing times for your local office and see what month they are processing. Most are just now processing January applications.

Uscis told me 5 months when I called a couple months ago. Well my congressman is at least trying to push it along. The congress office even called me and asked for me to send her certain papers so she can try to get it going. The case is already at my local office I'm just wondering how long after at your office it takes..

They are processing it at the local office by your NOA1 date. You will have to look and see what date your local office is processing and then you will know how long.

You already got the letter of the additional 6 month wait. The local offices are now helping NBC with the backlog of applications.

USCIS says a lot of things that are not always true. As Pinkrlion said, the local offices are now helping the NBC to reduce its backlog, i.e., being transferred to the local office doesn't necessaily mean you will have an interview. You can find your local office's processing times on the USCIS website (my local office for example is currently working on January 18 applications, so they are far away from the "5 month" mark). Btw, there are LOTS of people who applied in December/January and even as far back as August last year who are still waiting for their GC. I applied in early March and am waiting as well.

I know the wait is hard and tests us all, but being together with your loved one does make it a lot easier. Good luck!
