There are a lot of us who are in the same boat, we are patiently waiting to see what the deal is with the NBC so that we can figure out quickly or what the rhyme or reason is with the processing. the best of my ability and all my reading on the site tells me that we need wait it out one more month and we will know alot better at that time since they will also release the august numbers for completions and also will provide us some indication fo what is going on with the new facility. Sorry i know this is not the answer you were looking for but its the best i could do!

none of the service areas are going fast. I am 192 days into my last application for K-3. and i am at Missouri.

this is the only agency that does not depend on the government budget. It is fully funded by our fees, so they can not really have any excuses. If applicaitons are up, so is the money for fees to hire new help. I have been going thru this process since 2009. good luck to you

OK - here is the best conjecture as to what is going on...

If your I-130 was submitted prior to May 1 2013, your I-130 is probably sitting at the Missouri Service Center (the National Benefits Center).

If you filed after May 1, your I-130 is probably sitting at Overland Park, Kansas, waiting for the Division 8 to open either this coming Monday, or the next.

Petitions at the MSC/NBC submitted at the end of 2012 or the beginning of 2013 were supposed to be routed to your local service center for processing. Petitions for February - April are probably at the MSC/NBC waiting to be processed. The MSC/NBC handles many different petitions, and the general feeling is that they don't have enough people dedicated to the I-130s. This is the reason for the absolute stoppage of approvals after February.

The biggest hope that all of us who have filed after May 1st is that the new Division 8 at Overland Park, which is totally dedicated to I-130s, will get the ball rolling. I truly do NOT know whether or not any of the backlog at the MSC/NBC will be forwarded to Overland Park.

I would bet that six weeks from now, we will start to see the results of Division 8 coming on line. Hopefully it will REALLY help!!!

Sukie

OMG i totally know how you feel. Cause, I had to leave my husband behind after getting married in April of 2013. I applied for him in May 2013 and still waiting our status online indicates its still stuck on Initial Review. Its been 4 and a half months so lets see how long will they take to process this. When did you apply and are you a US citizen?

How do you know they weren't routed to field offices?

I'm the beneficiary.

Hold in there guys! I am hoping that by next month we all will have some sort of good news! I filed my I-130 in March (getting my NOA-1 on March 18th). I have a daughter (5 months old) and wife that I miss so much! Really makes me upset when my wife tells me our daughter is doing this..doing that..and I am sitting here missing out on all this (she will only be at this age once)!

Just for clarification purposes, if the government was to shut down (I highly doubt it), the MSC will still be online?

Hollyday, I don't know anything for sure. Like I said - it's all conjecture based on the answers provided by USCIS at the AILA conference in May. I would have thought that the Feb-April folks would have gotten acknowledgement that their petitions have been forwarded to local offices, if, indeed, that had happened, but I don't think we've seen many of these transfers here on VJ. The only one I've seen was a March filer that was transferred to the local office, and then RE-transferred back to MSC/NBC!

If February, March, or April I-130 filers HAVE gotten notification of a transfer to your local office, would you please holler here?

Thanks.

My general impression was that the majority of people learn about their file being transferred only after specifically asking about it (related posts: 1, 2, 3, 4, one actually by person who was transferred but had no idea).

March-filer here, no, i haven't had a notification about the transfer.

I'm the beneficiary.

May? Seriously? It wasn't that long ago it was typically taking 18 months to approve an I-130. I would take that as an historic norm,.

Exactly.
