It is tedious, having to go through all the pages of the reviews, but a lot of people do post about where they stayed. I see people like and recommend places near the consulate with La Quinta being mentioned the most. Also, Ibis, Microtel and the Holiday Inn Express. I believe all were said to be clean, nearby and have shuttles.

I stayed at Ibis, about 40 USD per night and overall a good value for the money right at the door of the consulate and medical clinics. Another good option is Microtel, Quality Inn is across a wide avenue (divided, two lanes) but close enough too.

La Quinta is not within walking distance, they use shuttles to get to and from the place.

As for what to do there, there is a mall right across the same avenue with a movie theater and good food places (can't remember the name but theres a small sea food place in the food cour that was awesome).

If possible do the fingerprints in your home city so that you dont have to stay in Juarez for too long, i did mine a week earlier, flew in a sunday night, got the medical monday, interview tuesday and changed my flight back home for tuesday night.

Good luck!

We stayed at the La Quinta Inn and it met our needs perfectly. The rooms are built and decorated exactly as you would expect to find in any US location. We had a king bed (very comfortable mattress) and a desk/table in the room where we could plan the day, go over paper work, and eat dinner, among other things. We felt being a bit further away from the consulate would make for quieter nights and better sleep. They do serve breakfast and have a shuttle, but it runs all day long and not always to your schedule. We just took a short cab ride when we needed and it worked out fine. Also, Walmart is close, just a few blocks away, and we made a run there for some room snacks and ordered pizza delivery. The way we saw it, the money we saved from not going out to eat every night paid for all the taxi fares in the day.
