Hey all, I have my interview coming up and we have a few questions:

1) I sent original IRS Return Transcripts along with my original packet, do I need to reorder and bring those again?

2) Do I need to bring my joint sponsors original W-2s?

3) Where can I find a comprehensive list of all the the documentation to bring? I know I have the checklist on the I-797 but I want to make sure I cover all the bases.

From all that I have read you should take:

  • original documents (for any copies you submitted as part of your application) for review or comparison
  • proof that your marriage is bona fide (house documents, bills, bank accounts, photos, testimonials, etc.)
  • updates to any of the original material you may have submitted (new employment details, etc.)
  • passport with your I-94 intact

In relation to the IRS documents, you should just need to take the copies that you made.

Good luck.

Also, was just reviewing NOLO's book "Fiance and Marriage Visas 2012, 7th edition" and it advises that on your appointment notice for your interview there will be an extensive list of items that you should bring (most of these are listed in my post above), however some USCIS offices may require additional material, so they warn to read this notice carefully!
