Pine-Ridge-Indian-Reservation-South-Dako

When I was in my Teens and twenties I did quite a bit of rambling around the country and a few times I would meet up with people and find myself on Reservations

(What can I tell you the road less traveled )

I have been to reservations in the South West and the North West, this is what you typically see, except in the South West, often they are cinder block homes with flat roofs with tires on the roof. Can anyone tell me why there are tires on the roofs throughout the South west?

I believe that's usually on metal roofs. It's for noise remediation during storms.

I am fairly certain that Danno-logic was about to opine the tires were used in the belief that tires on the roof kept whitey out. Thanks for clearing the mystery up before we were treated to that Danno-factoid!

Interesting..

Round here folks think of rain on a tin roof as relaxing

Still interesting concept

Still I remember the wind storms when stationed in the Mojave that went on for days. I recall the power lines had air spoilers on them

Maybe the tire thing helps hold them down also.

Are you honestly comparing white supremacists trying to create a white supremacist haven with Native American homelands and finding them to be the same?

Danno, did you get any education in critical thinking and data analysis?

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

This is not about comparing people or groups, this is about being a nation of laws.... laws that apply to all evenly.

If you can tell one group where they can live because you don't like their views then you give too much power to those "deciders".

To be clear, other groups have moved into areas and dominated the population and no one said a word.

When Mormons did it, when Jews did it, When Blacks did it.

IN all these cases, no one was literally "run off" though sometimes that was the effect.

No one has any right to harass or pressure anyone to move, no one can prevent any property owner from selling their home to who they want.

Rule of law or popular consensus, that your choice.

If white people ever want to establish a white homeland, it'll probably be in the upper midwest. Enough land to hold them all and few enough POC to not require any ethnic cleansing.

I think some group wanted to do it in South Carolina but that's just stupid.

THe SC thing was a CHristian movement IIRC.

Are you familiar with the "Quiver full" Movement?

Unless you cover most of the surface with tires, how does the cooling effect work?

the times i've seen it, the entire roof was covered.
