Hi all:

I'm on my OPT which ends in 2014 and I'm thinking of starting a business here. Pretty sure I will find suitable staff but not sure about a great partner yet. I came from mainland China therefore E2 is not possible and I don't have 500k/1 million now for EB5. My concern is I won't be able to stay here to operate my e-commerce business. Should I find a good partner, I shall let that person run the business for me - that seems to be the only option for me. Please prove me wrong...

And after my punctual departure in 2014 to avoid a ban, I will only be able to get visiting/business visa, right? I don't quite understand the terms, even after some research. It seems that those types of visas won't allow me to "work" for my company. But of course that's the point of my coming back- to see how the company is doing and make right decisions and build relationships. Please correct me if I misinterpreted the clause.

Thank you for helping in advance!

You need to contact an immigration attorney.

This is not a do-it-yourself situation.

There was a CNBC news piece on a Silicon Valley CEO who started a US internet company, but he had to leave the US because he could not get a visa. You can try to look it up. It was several years ago.
