Hi guys just had a question. The embassy requested after interview that my husband get a new co-sponsor because our current co-sponsor didn't have sufficient income. So my question is on the new I-864 does my new co-sponsor check that they are the only joint sponsor or the second joint sponsor? The first co-sponsor's income will not be considered at all. Thanks for any feedback.

I think you are the principal joint sponsor and any other is a second sponsor

No. The petitioner is the principle sponsor, and the second person is the joint sponsor.

To the OP if you use a new joint sponsor and are not using the person who was rejected, the new joint sponsor will be the ONLY joint sponsor

To add, you cannot have two joint sponsors sponsor the same immigrant. When people talk about two joint sponsors, that's when there are multiple immigrants, and one joint sponsor is sponsoring some of them, while the other one is sponsoring the rest. However, each immigrant still only has one joint sponsor.

So the new joint sponsor is the only joint sponsor.
