Hello everybody!

Really need the advice of VJ family. I got my green card based on CR-1 vise. Though it is valid till 2023 I do believe that it is conditional green card. I am supposed to travel with my husband .

My question is can it affect the re-entry to the US. We have already have spent two weeks and a half in Asia in August-September. So i used my green card at the order . And I will be in Europe for a month in September to the middle od October.

Do I need any other re-entry permit document just in case?

Thank you in advance!

Hope someone can correct me if i'm wrong... i think that is conditional just if your been married for less than two years....

Plus, even as conditional , you have two years before removal of conditions and as a green card holder you can travel with just the restriction of keeping the us as residence... if i'm correct you just need permission to travel if you will be out of the country for more than six months... but please check the guides and restrictions in uscis and cbp page.

I love you Charles forever!!

Thank you Carla!

I think you are right. I have read about it and the more I read the crazier I become about everything . It is better to be prepared.

No I am not planning on traveling more than 6 months. Just 2 trips in a row.

If you have a GC valid until 2023 it is NOT a conditional GC. You have to renew your green card every ten years unless you apply for citizenship.

A conditional GC is valid for 2 years only, not 10.

If the card has the wrong expiration date you are to send it back to USCIS with a completed I-90 form (no fee as it's their mistake) and a copy of your marriage certificate - highlight date of marriage - to get a new card with the correct expiration date. I'd include a cover letter as well. Heck, I'd get this done with full involvement of your congressman or senator's immigration aide so they can stay on top of this for you.

Make sure to copy both front and back of the wrong green card for your records.
