I was under the impression that only a US citizen could request a parent to come to the US, where as the title of the forum "

Bringing Family Members of Permanent Residents to America" implies that a green card holder can apply for a family member to come to the US. Could someone clarify? Cheers

Refer to the instructions for Form I-130, on who may file for an alien relative:

US Citizen:

Spouse

Unmarried child under 21

Unmarried son/daughter 21 or older

Married son/daughter of any age

Brother/sister (you must be 21 or older)

Your parents (you must be 21 or older)

LPR:

Spouse

Unmarried child under 21

Unmarried son/daughter 21 or older

hi,

gc holders can file for spouses and unmarried children.

for parents, siblings and married children you have to be a USC

for parents, yes you have to be a USC
