Hi all

We moved after filing AOS and an interview had already been scheduled in a previous location. I have all the change of address acknowledgments from USCIS so it's all been done in the system but so far nothing from my new local office about a rescheduled interview date.

My question is do I:

a) contact my old office where the interview was scheduled and inform them, even though I received a change of address acknowledgement from them directly

b) contact my new office and make an InfoPass appt?

c) let things take their course and soon enough I'll hear about a rescheduled interview? (Main concern about this is letting the original interview date slip by and being classed as a "no-show"

Would appreciate your help VJers! Please only people with actual experience of this reply...I don't want rhetoric...also there is no chance of attending interview at the previous location as it's the other side of the country!

Thanks

Hey everyone...surely someone must have gone through a change of address during aos and can give me some advice with this one?

Would really appreciate it...

Thanks

Agree with both above. Never do "C". If it is not too much of an inconvience for the two of you, you could go to the original interview at the old location and they would either do the interview or reschedule at your new local office, but at elast they cannot say you were a no-show. That's if nothing comes of "A" or "B" before the interview date arrives.

Good luck,

Agreed.

OP - have you received a confirmation code from rescheduling your interview? If not, I too would attend the interview in the previous location.

It has happened where people have had to reschedule the day of for example due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances. Those people called and received a confirmation number of their reschedule. In many cases they then received denial notices due to "no show". Those denials were able to be overturned (without fee) because of the confirmation of the reschedule. Without that you have no proof you advised them that you wouldn't attend (the change of address isn't proof of reschedule).

OK thanks all - I was asked to fax a number requesting the interview reschedule so have done that. Still have a bit of time before the actual interview so see what I hear back in the next few days. Attending isn't really an option as it's the other side of the country, literally!

Thanks again
