Hi all,

Well i feel a little stupid now and I'm slightly worried about some vaccinations I have completely forgot to have!

Let me fil you in, I have had my full medical at knightsbridge, been granted my K1 visa at the embassy, and I fly over to the US on my one way flight on Tues 24th Sept (yes next week!)

Through packing I have gathered my official notes from my medical, which one states that " as part of their medical requirements for entry into the country. The applicant has chosen to attend your surgery for administartion of the following: Tetanus Polio Diptheria, MMR"

After reading this, to my horror, I completely forgot to get thes vacs done at my local GP!! At the time I didnt have them done at knightsbridge as I could get them done cheaper on the NHS, so i left them. Now with so little time to get these done,

Is there going to be a problem at immigration?

Can these be done in the US before I apply for AOS?

If there is a big problem now does anyone recommend any clinics that can get these done on the day? will prob have to be Monday 23rd sept now.

Any help will be massively appreciated. ASAP please!

Jonny

It won't be a problem. You will need to complete the missing immunization before submitting the AOS. The missing immunization will need to be transcribe on the I-693 by a civil surgeon, which you will submit with your AOS packet. I suggest getting the immunization completed before seeing the civil surgeon, because I hear they overcharge. If your soon to be spouse has medical insurance in the US, maybe you can get the missing immunization under their insurance policy.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply! That's put my mind at ease, things are pretty hectic atm! I'm guessing it's around the same cost out there and ican get them done with my varicella.

Have them done in UK then call civil surgeons in the area (and dont stop) and get one that will transcribe those for you without trying to rip you off or convince you that a full medical is needed for aos.

I just didn't believe it's such a pain so instead of having td and mmr done at knightsbridge I waited till I arrived in US.

About 20 phone calls and a lot of nerves later I found one that got convinced that I do not need full medical and had MMR and TD and pages 1 plus 5 of I-693 done for $175 which was ok considering that Walgreens charges $100 for MMR and $55 for TD.

You can find some here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/231026-civil-surgeons-who-dont-rip-you-off/page-23

And read more about I-693 and civil surgeon problems here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/101202-faqs-forms-i-693-and-ds-3025/

Good luck :-)

It is not where I breathe but where I love that I live.
