You know why there will be no attempt at further federal firearms legislation from this incident? Do you know why it is not even being discussed? Do you know why Obama is not making speeches about it?

1. Too close to primary season

Snowden escaped to Russia because Obama had no influence on Putin who has told Obama to "####### off" TWICE now. Obama Fedex'd his balls to Putin last week. Putin publically shears Obama like a baby pig TWICE...and you think Obama can handle the NRA? Obama cannot handle getting higher wages for Cinammon at Burger King.

There will be no new push for "background checks" Obviously, they don't work.

On Tuesday, Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy, an avid gun-control advocate and opponent of Illinois' concealed carry law, held another of what has become a series of press conferences displaying guns seized by Chicago cops — some 5,095 in the first 37 weeks of 2013 — along with a lecture on crime and gun control. But he inadvertently found common ground with Second Amendment defenders when he noted that while guns are being seized, the gun criminals are often allowed to go free.

"We seize nine guns for every one that the NYPD seizes," McCarthy said. "That's not success that we're talking about," he added. "We're talking about the fact that they shouldn't be here in the first place and when we arrest those people — they don't go to jail."

One day they will learn that crime is committed by people not by objects and they might learn if people who commit crime are allowed to freely walk the street then crime does not go down - no matter how many objects used in crime are taken.

PS: It seems if you want your city cleaned up it's probably not good to put "avid gun control advocates" in charge of doing it

As a Federal employee, my take on this article is that the private sector isn't any better than the government. All this talk about privatizing a lot of the work done by the government is a lot bull$hit by Republicans.
