yea the funny thing is people 'zomg this video is horrible' 'oh noes!' etc.. when they didn't read the answers from the 'christians' saying things like 'I hope you burn in hell'.... VERY christian indeed.. tolerand and sh!t, just like Jesus

People who say "I hope you burn in hell" aren't true Christians. They are self-righteous prideful hypocrites. If they would truly be a CHRISTIAN and really be what they are claiming to be (a follower of Christ) then they would truly love people and know that they aren't any better than anybody else. By the way, the Jesus that I know and love is nothing like the hypocritical so-called Christians that give Him a bad name.

although those 'i hope you burn in hell' evangelists are the most popular.. so.. why bad hypocritical christians are so popular nowadays..

Because they make false promises to people who are truly seeking and are in need. And unfortunately people fall for it. "Give this much to us and you will be debt free in 5 days..." etc. But if someone truly wanted to know about Jesus and Christianity they should read the New Testament. Most people don't want to so they rely on crazy people to form their idea of Christianity. Not very informed.

Why are drugged up alcoholic hypocritical actors/actresses so famous? Lots of people are famous that maybe should not be.

They're cultists who rely on shallow religiosity and empty ritual while remaining more or less ignorant of the meaning.

True, but I feel the same way about many other types of churches, even the ones without the 'craziness'. It can become all about ritual and religiosity and saying some prayer that means nothing to someone, instead of seeking to know our God and Savior and actually wanting to please Him with our actions every day. So I guess I get annoyed with both sides of the spectrum.

True religion loses its value when it is reduced to an empty ritual masking hypocrisy. That does unfortunately seem to be enough for a lot of people - how else can the likes of Scientology be explained?

Yeah.

I guess when it really comes down to it the only person we truly change is ourselves, and see if we are living the way we expect others to be living. Otherwise we are hypocrites too if we expect more from others than we wish to do ourselves. I'm just saying generally-it doesn't even have to be only about religion but just our behavior towards people. But I'd really hope, that while some may still consider me crazy for my beliefs, they might possibly think, "Well she doesn't seem like one of the hateful Christians..." I really would hope that. But who knows what people really think.

That's my ramble for the day. :innocent:

I guess its a self-confidence thing - if you are 100% comfortable with your beliefs then you have no need for the fire and brimstone "do this or you'll burn in hell" moralising that seems to be so popular with fundamentalist groups. Without wanting to go off on a tangent - it reminds me a little of that Creationism / Evolution debate. It always seemed to me that there was room for both religion and science to co-exist, but the typically adversarial nature of the discourse suggests that a good many people don't see it that way.
