Hello everyone,

Just wanted to voice my fruistraintion about CBP and spacifically the I-95

I recently entered the US from Toronto and was inspected by CBP in toronto. The officer was horrible, I know they have to be stern and unemotional but this guy was an ###. I'm using a family based VISA to enter the country he treated me like I was a detainee. I don't care about that I know how they are. However, it must have been the first time he had processed K1 he kept having to ask another officer questions and looked untterly confused. After I was processed he gave ne ZERO i mean NO information regarding the use or activation of the VISA or what the next steps were. I knew to ask about the I-94 he explained (while shooing me away) that it was all done online. Like a dumbass I took his word and got home logged on only to find 'no record' on the screen. I called CBP in the morning to ask what the problem was. The person on the phone explained that it can take up to 24 hours. After that time there was still no record. I called my local CBP office. The person on the phone told me I was given a I-94 number due to a glitch in the system. I would have to make an oppointment and come in a b reprocessed. My appointment it now tuesday,m I cannot file anything now until I have this number.

I'm just losing my mind and cannot wit until I am out of the system and do not have to rely on them for ANYTHING!!!

p.s. still havent even recieved my packet 3!! Imagine if I had waited.

~Moved from K-1 Process to Working and Traveling During US Immigration~

~Commentary is post K-1~

(Organizer hat off)

I can feel your pain. A lot of folks, me and my family included, were hoping that the new electronic I-94 process would be painless. For many travelers, it has just been much of the same horse "puckey" from CBP (Customs and "Burro Patrol").

We have managed to be recipients of some of the "wonderful" customer service that CBP is known to dish out to immigrants and citizens without impunity Since my family's arrival we have had to avail ourselves with the services of the local CBP Deferred Inspection Office, to correct an erroneous paper I-94 (that should have been caught at their POE). My then-fiancee and son were delayed and searched for over 2 hours at their POE. After obtaining her 2-yr GC, my wife had to visit her frail and ailing mother in northern China. Upon her return, my wife was subjected to another 2-hour session of searching and questioning. (C'mon, my wife was a Chinese high school teacher for 20-plus years - can ya say profiling?…..) BTW, wanna know what they found/confiscated that was illegal or seizable?…. nothing, nada, niente, zilch ! Additionally, my wife's SSN was held up for six weeks, due to slothful data input into the CBP SAVE database. It is virtually impossible to contact anyone at CBP (except drones), via email or phone.

It seems that CBP is a somewhat vaporous entity within the Dept. of Homeland Security mega-bureaucracy. IMO, CBP is a bunch of jack-booted thugs that wouldn't know customer-service if came up and bit them.

Hopefully, YMMV.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
