After one month of receiving the Greencard - adjusted from K1, we went to the social security office to obtain the unrestricted greencard and change her status per the Social Security website instructions. The lady told my wife, her maiden name still shows up in SAVE and it will take 1-3 months for her card to be issued.

After making a infopass appointment, USCIS confirmed that SAVE database should have been updated with the married name since the green card was issued with the married name (so was the EAD and so was the original social security card with the restrictions !)

The social security card was received 9 days after the initial appt without restrictions and with the married name - go figure !

Infopass lady confirmed they have now updated the record. Now we can go to the DMV to get the road test and hopefully get the Drivers License. Hope this helps someone.

I have exact same problem so thanks for sharing!! I desperately need to get drivers license as I work 25 miles from home nowhere near a bus route so USCIS have really screwed me over with not updating their system.
