I just checked the USCIS website and it states this:

On September 18, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

What does it mean? Did they run a background check on us already? Is it an indicator that the case is moving forward? Should I expect an approval soon? What is the process that goes on between when the application is received and this message? Any input is greatly appreciated

I AM VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS!!!!

Hi, that means that your petition is now in their systems/records and is now waiting adjudication. Should you expect an approval soon? Maybe, maybe not. It depends on how quick your service center will adjudicate your petition and how heavy their case load is.

What is the process that goes on between when the application is received and this message? Nothing, they just receive you petition, put the files on USCIS folders, arrange them in their own way, and put them in a stack and wait for your files to be picked up by an adjudicator. You are now in the NOA2 waiting game.

Thank you!!! I am nervous... I have read different things about this.. some people got an approval a few days after this message showed up and others got an approval a month after or four months after.... I thought they ran background checks or some other type of verification before issuing the A# for the beneficiary... let´s see what happens now... crossing fingers it goes by fast.... so basically my file is on some adjudicator´s queue? yay!!!
