We were reading that the other day, the thing I was confused on is 50,000 immigrates from these countries part. Are these immigrates that used the DV lottery to enter USA or is that just in general. If that is the case do you guys think it will start impacting the other ways in which citizens from these countries can enter USA?

They count immigrants that claim Nigeria as their chargeable country. It includes all classes of immigrant visas DV, K's , Cr/Ir's the DV's were limited to 5000 primary Nigerian winners a year so other classes must be heavy hitters, It will free up the 5000 "Nigerian" visas for the rest of the AF chargability. ( so many Nigerians applied that they capped the draw to make it fair for others ) With DV on the chopping block along with sibling and some adult chld classes it is doubtful to ever see Nigeria get back on the allowed list. I hate to say it but it will make for more romance scams by those that saw DV as their only path to the US especially those that won't do well with the proposed point based system that favors skilled professionals.

That's exactly where my mind was going, I was thinking oh lord Nigeria is about to be flooded with 80 year old women and their 12 year old husbands. It will definitely led to an increase of romance scams because soon enough it will spread that the only way to get to America is to get on the internet and go "fishing."

It amazes me how these man children can fake so well interest in a senior woman and how everyone in the compound goes along with it I guess senior woman have seen their like aged male counterparts run to Asia and marry a grandchild and think that ihe game plays the same with Nigerian boys.

It is taken off based on the number of immigrants over the past 5 years , It is doubtful that number will drop before the whole DV lottery is consumed by immigration reform. We also worry about the sibling petitions being eliminates because with more than 20 siblings we had hoped to break it out over several years

20 siblings? I can't help but wonder if this is part of the reason Nigeria has been cut off.
