Need Advice - Orlando and Jacksonville Field Offices

Ok, I will try to keep this brief. My husband (USC) filed the I-130 (stand alone) in January, and our PD is Jan 31/13. Our NOA1 has MSC number for NBC Missouri. Our case does not show in the "Check Status" on the USCIS website. I am in Canada.

Sometime in May, our file was transferred to the Orlando, FL office after sitting untouched at NBC for almost 5 months. After numerous calls to USCIS (where we kept getting misleading and conflicting info), at the 6 month mark my husband made an infopass appt for the Orlando office. At the appointment (which was at about the 7 month mark), he was told by the IO (after she checked with her supervisor) that the Orlando office does not process I-130 applications, especially stand-alone I-130s. They told him that the file would need to be transferred to the Jacksonville office. They told him to call back or make another Infopass appt in a month to make sure it is transferred. The IO also indicated that our file had been untouched since it got there.

Today, my husband called USCIS to inquire about our case, and it turns out that it is still sitting in Orlando, untouched. The IO put in a service request to have Jacksonville request our file from Orlando. The IO told my husband that the service request will take a month to process, and then more time until it is actually transferred to Jacksonville.

Obviously, we are upset and frustrated. 8 months and nothing has happened to our file but being transferred. But what I need to know is if what we are being told is true! Does the Orlando office really not process I-130s? Is the transfer to Jacksonville the right thing? Has a similar thing happened to anyone else out there? Is there anything we can do at this point to find out when our case will be processed? Any information will help! Please and thank you :)

Mar 2013 to October 2013 no one would tell us where our case was or what was happening. I suspected the whole time it was just sitting in a corner somewhere in the Orlando field office. I was pretty much right.

October 2013 - get congressman involved. Congressman asks USCIS repeatedly about our case but they won't even tell them anything.

31 Jan 2014- finally get NOA2!!!! (we think the nightmare is over!)

NVC

Our case was not sent from the Orlando field office as it should have been. The nightmare continues. We kept calling NVC and asking if they received our case, and they always said "NO" and that we had to wait 90 business days for it to be received. We called USCIS during this time and they kept telling us it had been sent. After the 90 days of agonizing frustration, NVC then started telling us we had to wait 120 business days. I got our congressman involved again, and they told the congressman it was sitting at the Orlando office this whole time (just as I thought it was!).

22 Apr 2014 -- NVC received
16 May 2014 -- NVC case number assigned
24 May 2014 -- AoS and IV bills paid

28 May 2014 -- Sent AoS and IV Packages

6 June 2014 -- documents scanned

18 July 2014 -- false checklist from NVC

21 July 2014 -- Case complete

28 July 2014 -- receive case complete email from NV

30 July 2014 -- interview booked! September 11 here I come!
