Hi, I am new here. My fiance and I had our NOA2 on September 17th (NOA1-July3). Still waiting for the NOA2 hard copy. I've been reading posts and websites about the next steps, but I am not sure if I fully understand them all.. My question is, what are the next steps after NOA2 hardcopy?

1) Case will be sent to NVC, then my fiance will receive a NVC letter? This is the letter with the MNL number? What else does he need to do after this?

-----Does he need to send this NVC letter to me?

-----Some people here said you can pay for and schedule your medical and interview using the MNL number only? Do I need the original copy of the NVC letter?

2) Is it best to wait for the instructions letter from the embassy before scheduling a medical?

-----Is this "instruction letter from embassy" what they refer to as "packet 3"? How long does this usually take?

-----In case it is possible for me to schedule a medical and interview with only the MNL number? What if the instruction letter takes longer to arrive than the scheduled interview? Does this ever happen?

3) Other than getting my passport, BC, NBI clearance, CENOMAR, fiance's ITR and etc.. and other important docs ready and waiting for the letter from the embassy.. Is there anything else I should be doing now? All that I need now is the medical and the interview and CFO right?

I hope my questions are not so confusing.. I'd really appreciate your help. Thank you in advance!

First of all, Congratulations!!

1. Yes and yes. If the letter comes earlier prior to her medical and interview, you can send it to her in her email and print. In case that it doesn't arrive early but so happen that you already got your Manila Case Number by calling NVC, you can already start the process! You don't have to wait for the hardcopy... as many of us didn't recieve it "on time"... in my case, as soon as I got my Manila Case #, I already proceed with the process...

2. Not really.I am saying this because I got my packet 3 after I finished everything! I already have my visa on hand when I recieved the packet (some don't recieve it at all!)! You can decide not to wait for that... instructions can be seen on US Embassy website, that's all you need.

Yes, all u need is your manila case number!

3. Requirements are written on the K1 Instruction on the embassy website.

Well, i hope this little information can help!

Have a good day!

Thank you so much Freelibrary and DavenRoxy. It's great to hear that I don't need to wait for the packet, because I am afraid I won't even receive it (we don't really have a 100% reliable mailing system in the Phils, last time I was expecting a mail from my fiance it took months and they didn't send it unless I went to the main post office to get it).

Thanks again for the information. And yes I have now bookmarked that website visa-connection that Hank (i think) made. It's very detailed. :)

1) Yes. Send you a copy of the NVC letter/email. Once you have your MNL # you can get most everything done.

2) NO!!! Everything with the embassy is done online, following the flashing arrow below this post. Very few ever receive the letter from USEM, it is not the instructions letter though, just a letter stating you can get started and a URL to the instructions letter. Don't wait for any letter... it's ROCK N ROLL TIME!!

3) Everything that is required is listed in the Embassy Instructions Letter. Click the link below... lots of links, lots of reading.

You will want a few pictures of the two of you together, a sampling of chat logs, emails, or however you communicate with each other. You will want to know about your fiance' work, your wedding plans and such ;) .

I would suggest you get CFO done while waiting for the MNL # - Read what CFO asks for and be ready.

For both CFO and the interview at USEM - Be self-assured, confident and smile, look them in the eyes when you speak ...

Not many ever get a letter from USEM, so as Hank said, do not wait around for it. We never got one.

Also, in addition to what he listed above, make sure you know your petitioner's mother's maiden name and phone numbers to contact him/her in the USA when you do your CFO seminar.

Thank you Hank and DavenRoxy! I have saved a copy of the instruction letter (i got from one of the post here before) and saved all forms, except for the online one - DS-156. Every time I go to its link it says:

"Your system may not meet the minimum requirements. The following problem(s) have been detected:

* Your browser does not appear to meet the minimum required version.

* You do not appear to have the minimum required version of Adobe Acrobat installed."

I've tried all browsers, and have the latest Adobe Acrobat. The form still comes up, but I am not sure if my info will get saved if I fill it out (whenever I am ready) with that error.

My fiance's mother's maiden name is not something we talk about everyday so I don't remember lol. Thank you so much for that tip!

I can't wait to get our MNL number and get things going! :)

I agree with Dave, try doing F5 to clear the cache.

IE can be a pain at time. Do you have Chrome and Firefox on your computer as well?

**

And for sure read through the CFO section in my link, CFO does not always ask everything listed but sometimes .... ;)

A little more than that, Hank. F5 just refreshes the current page, but doesn't clear cookies and such.

In IE, it's TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS>GENERAL TAB>DELETE BROWSING HISTORY

This will erase any stored passwords too, so just be aware of that.

In Chrome, click the 3 horizontal bars in the upper right corner, then TOOLS, CLEAR BROWSING DATA (or CTRL-SHIFT-DEL).

You're right F5 isn't enough. I just did a look see for deleting cache in IE: Hold down F12, then push CLT + R

History, cookies and cache are all different critters. Deleting history will do nothing to help a cache issue, neither will deleting cookies.

Yeah, I shouldn't assume everyone has the latest browser. It's more work with IE7 and previous.

Internet Explorer 9 and 8
  1. Click Tools, and select Delete Browsing History... .
  2. Deselect Preserve Favorites website data, and select Temporary Internet files, Cookies, and History.
  3. Click Delete.
Internet Explorer 7
  1. From the Tools menu in the upper right, select Delete Browsing History... .
  2. To delete your cache, click Delete files... .

To delete your cookies, click Delete cookies... .

To delete your history, click Delete history... .

  3. Click Close, and then click OK to exit.

Thank you again Hank and DavenRoxy! I have the latest Chrome and Firefox browser. I have cleared, history, cache, updated Java, and all but I still get the error. I don't know if I am the only one getting this error. So I spent a couple of hours researching about this 128-bit encryption thing stated on the website and I don't think this could be the problem as I believe the latest Chrome and FF are very secure. I found some posts online regarding the "evisiforms error message" issue but doesn't really help much.

I hate IE10 cause it always freezes and it's very slow, and most of the time won't even load. So I uninstalled it and downgraded to IE9. And surprisingly, the website worked without the error message. I don't know why, but that's great. smile.png

Thank you so much for the help and thank you for the CFO info, I have read it and bookmarked the website. It's very informative! smile.png

I'm using safari on an apple, also tried with my windows PC at work, also firefox...always got the same response. I just went ahead, filled out the form online, then when printing I just printed to a PDF file instead of the printer. Saved a e-copy, then I could print out as many from that file, and had a back up just in case. Think we still have to write in a few N/A's and nones in some fields afterwards.
