ok - so for your complete tax return -

you had :

1. 1040 and

2. W-2

if nothing else, when you filed with the IRS,

then your 'copy' that you submitted is complete.

echo on the or portion of the instructions. It's 1] complete copy of tax return paperwork or 2] tax transcript .

So, I think, if you submitted complete copy of what was submitted to the IRS, then you are 100 percent OK.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Get tax transcripts free from IRS to eliminate any problems. What you have sent may be questioned but I don't know what you mean by IRS receipts either. If tax returns are used they must include every supporting doc as well.

Should we be requesting Account Transcript or Return Transcript?

Given the simplicity of these, I just ordered both the Account and the Receipt Transcripts.

For future reference, you can do that here:

You are not reading this correctly, there's an "OR" there. You do NOT need to include the IRS transcripts if you send the 1040 and the W2's. So, unless you also had other forms (like 1099) or other "schedules" (ie things that are produced by the turbotax that you sent to the IRS with your return) that you did not include, you are fine.

Correct...you are only required to send the ITR for the most recent year.

Yeah, I do hope so. I know that the more the better in most cases so I keep second guessing myself at this point after I have already mailed all the forms.

Thank you for your input, though!
