My husband has an interview at the end of October, but we are in a dilemma with the following:

I have phone bills from August 2006 to November 2009 under the name of a close family friend because in August 2006 my family had to move out of the country and I therefore had to switch my visa to a student visa since I was going to college here. Now since I did not have a social security at the time to open my own cell phone account and to save money as well I opened a cell phone line under the family friends existing account. So all the bills are under the family friends name from that time period up until the plan ended in 2009 and I opened a new account in my family's name. The bills were always mailed to my permanent address. Our lawyer thinks showing these bills will be problematic at the interview, but they are a huge chunk of evidence from the time period my husband and I were engaged to three months after marriage. Since both of our laptops crashed in between that time period we don't have chat logs for that time. My husband used a calling card, so he cannot get records showing anything. We do have evidence of boarding passes when we met, engagement pics, random emails, envelopes, boarding passes to when we traveled for the wedding etc. From nov 2009 and onwards we have a lot of evidence gathered up since we were careful about backing everything up etc.

to explain why my family left is something along the lines of L1 visa laws and something about my father having to moving out of the country for a year, but he came back to the same sponsor.

I tried to best explain the situation without trying to confuse you guys, I really need advice since we have nothing to hide from the co, we are telling the truth that the cell phone line was mine opened under the family friends account due to uncontrollable circumstances, should we get a letter from the family friend and notarize it? I don't know why the lawyer is scaring us.

From that time period 2006 to nov 2009 we don't have Skype history since our laptops crashed and both man and Skype was wiped. We have random emails, envelopes, boarding passes, pictures. After November 2009 we have slot of evidence saved up since we were more wise about it after learning our lesson.

you say you have a lot of evidence since nov 2009. forget about a phone bills. show your financial co-,mingling - bank accounts, joint tax returns, health/car insurance together, electric bill, loan...and if you think that's not enough have a US citizen friends write you letters confirming your relationship.

I personally am not gonna bring phone records. First off all both lines are under husbands name, so it doesn't prove anything.

good luck on your interview.

We don't have joint bank accounts or joint tax return since he doesn't live here. From niv 2009 onwards I have phone bills under my name, Skype chat logs that were wisely backed up, saved envelopes, boarding passes, pictures, evidence of pregnancy and loss, evidence of new pregnancy. What I am really missing is a lot of evidence from the time period we were engaged to three months after marriage which is nov 2009. What we have from that time period are pictures, boarding passes, a few emails, and some envelopes. Btw, how should I obtain letters from family or friends? What do the letters have to say and do they have to be notarized? Thank you

You just have them write a letter stating they know u both and you both have been husband n wife.. They can also say about your communication pattern.

My family write statement saying they attending our wedding and see us communicating every day. They took it to currency exchange for notary

Thanks.

Screenshots of the call logs.. It's in the chat window. Scroll up for history.. :)

Just get recent evidence.. They don't even look at this paperwork.

I agree! I think it will suffice. Best of luck! :)

I'd say the evidence since 2009 should be good, if you have a lot of other stuff than the phone bills, even the phone bills should be good because you have them. Do you have cancelled checks where you paid the phone bills? or copy of your bank statement showing the transaction. That should be OK.

Thanks guys, I am trying to think if I have saved carbon copies of the checks that were made out to pay the phone bills, but it was so long ago that I doubt I will be able to find them. I think at this point we should avoid the confusion with those phone bills and show other evidence.

My husband is under f2a not f4.
