I'm all ears if you want to enlighten me as to how Afghanistan is not a "###### mess".

THE US was a ###### mess 40 years ago until someone had the balls to stand up for their rights. So dont think that the US was a great romantic country since its inception. it was as racist as any other country is today. And gupt you got nothing better to do than post bs about afghanistan, why dont you post about how women are treated in India. i am sure they have the same kind of problems.

I was super duper tired to post last night but things are slowly getting better in Afghanistan. Divorce is becoming more prominent and women are speaking out for their rights. There are many cases that have gone to court on forced marriages where the girl has filed against her parents. Education is key but it is hard when you live in the mountains miles and miles away from the city.

Both. It's so sad how it all works. Being divorced means that she isn't a virgin anymore and the only man that will possibly marry her will be another old guy and she will probably be the second or third wife. And having some sort of deformity or being burned isn't looked upon too good because what will people think? So and so's wife is deformed! Oh my! Also, in cases of divorce almost all of the time the girl is to blame and she is looked upon as shameful. People will go so far as to not marry any other girls from that family because of relation. Not all of the people of Afghanistan are like this because I have known and heard of opposite cases but it exists and is terribly sad.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I wouldn't deny that the US had and has its share of problems (I'm British BTW - in case you want to comment on our illustrious imperial history, in which Afghanistan played no small part) - but it is not a country embroiled in civil unrest / tribal and factional warfare, nor is it a country that is the highest exporter of Opium (which is a major funding source for organised crime).
