I did not know soldiers picked the political party when they choose to go out there and protect our country and its citizens.

They don't. But only the right are man enough to volunteer and be good American soldiers. The ones that wash out of basic or crack in the field are the liberals.

Anyway Harsh this is dumb and I'm sorry i said anything. I think you and I are getting dumber by the second for being in this conversation. FWIW, it wasn't directed at you anyway.

Actually you'd be surprised. When 9/11 happened, the surge in patriotism was unmatched. Folks ran to enlist and prove their love for the US. 5 years in, talk to those same soldiers. A lot of them changed their entire thought process in terms of Dems and Repubs.

As a lifer in the military, I'll say that the democrats usually downsize the military and reduce our yearly raises. The republicans beef us up and increase our pay. It's kind of a conflict for me.

I hear Alla is a great cook.

Yeah, in heels and sleepwear.

I know it was not at me, I was pointing to similar incident at Forthood which administration labeled as workplace violence and denied the benefits to soldiers.

I'm not informed enough on either case to really say anything to this.

Washington (CNN) -- The White House defended President Barack Obama from criticism that he was tone deaf in his reaction to the mass shootings at Washington Navy Yard.

For a second straight day, White House press secretary Jay Carney faced questions about a Monday afternoon event that occurred as the situation at the Navy Yard was still unfolding. Obama touched on the tragedy before forcefully criticizing conservative Republicans who are threatening to shut down the government.

For once, I don't think President Obama made the right call on this one.

Of course he did.Glad you are starting to see it

Did you catch the followup, bills in the Texas Congress to have this relabeled? Yes? No?

The soldiers and victims won't recieve the same benefits as they would in a combat location. I don't agree with it, but I understand it.

The result of the workplace violence assertion is that dead and wounded soldiers have been denied benefits they would receive if the shootings were deemed to be combat-related, and this belittles their pain. But worse than that, denying this was an act of terrorism might help obfuscate the Army’s culpability in that they allowed it to happen by not acting on hard facts in their possession about Hasan’s potential for committing this kind of attack. They knew he was becoming radicalized and still they promoted him to major. They knew he might kill Americans and still they moved him to a position where he had access to highly classified information that he might well share with other terrorists.

Don't get too happy. I still don't think he is the worse president of all times like some folks here. It was a bad call in my eyes, and no matter who makes it, I call it like I see it.

Sorry NB, I passed my screening with flying colors. I have a TS clearance. But funny you should mention that, my mother just called and said now they're going to revamp the screening process.

If he had to wait to speak every time someone was gunned down he's remain silent until the end of his term.

How about he just govern?
