Hello everyone. This is my first post, so sorry if I am posting it on the wrong spot.

My fiance is from Vietnam, date interview is October, 28th, 2013. I recently started working February of 2013, therefore I is unable to provide a copy of a complete federal tax return. In this case, I am wondering if it is possible to have my stepfather as a joint sponsor because he is a retired soldier who receives four thousand dollars in retirement money from the United States government each month since the year 1999, and in addition to that he does not have to pay a federal tax of any sort.

Your help is very much appreciated thank you.

Many Embassies does accept sponsor in many cases for K-1 visa. You need to ask the Consulate in Vietnam to make sure or anyone that relates to this situation. I heard VietNam does not aceept for K-1 and anyone can correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you very much HaoPhong! I guess you are also Vietnam, right? I had also heard of K1 can not co-sponsor. I'm very anxious to find lawyers VN is the answer is still able to co-sponsor. But I still do not really believe, despite the appointment letter, VN Consulate in the case mentioned the financial sponsor of the K guide, I also sent an email asking questions Consulate as issues in this topic, then the answer is that they see in it the guiding K. So far, I do not know whether to be or not??? and around him are also not the same case!

Chúc may mắn.

Viet Nam doesn't allow K1 or K3 Co-Sponsor for fiancé. Only CR1/IR1 (Husband and Wife) are allow for Co-Sponsor.

Wish you the best, and welcome to VJ family.
