Police Certificate From Kazakhstan

I need help about Police certificate from kazakhstan i lived in Kazakhstan for 16 months and i read on a website that kazakhstan dont issuee police certificate and also called Kazakhstan embassy here and they also say they dont issuee police certificate but today i called US Embassy to ask about my interview latter and also asked what docoments to bring as my interview on 20 December and have not yet recived interview letter so they told me i need police certificate from Kazakhstan also but i told them that they dont issuee police certificate, the lady said no they issuee and she said i will show you when you come so i am confused what she meant by i will show you when you come and what should i do as i dont have any one in Kazakhstan to get police certificate from kazakhstan so if any one know how to get it let me know as my interview on 20 December.

From all other places i already got so if i dont have one from kazakhstan will they ask to bring it and then the interview will be done or what......

This is the information that the Department of State has posted on their website, and is what the US embassy, or consulate as to go on. They have a list of countries that police certificates are not available from and Kazakhstan is not one of them.

POLICE CLEARANCE INFORMATION

Available. An official document is obtainable from the Center of Justice Statistics and Information under the General Prosecutor's Office (CJSI). Kazakhstani citizens, residents (or their confidential agents) can request this document by applying directly to the Center of Justice Statistics at the following address:

Street 189,

Almaty, 480099, Kazakhstan

At the time of application they need to present identification or a residence card. Prior Kazakhstani residents, who now live in countries different from the Republic of Kazakhstan, should apply at Kazakhstani diplomatic missions abroad. Third parties (embassies, consulates, etc.) can apply by diplomatic note only.

I just looked at this link and found it rather interesting. We were able to obtain a police certificate from one of the listed countries (Kyrgyzstan) but it took a little effort. I had posed this same question to the US embassy in Moscow when we were unsure that we would receive the police certificate and they did not tell me it would be impossible to get it. They told us to try, and bring what we could get.

Police certificate from the listed countries are available only for the their own citizen. if you are a kazak national you can get one.

I contacted the Kazakhstan Embassy today again and they told me that they only issuee Police Certificates to Kazak Nationals and no to other nationals same they told me 2 weeks back when i contacted them so i told that guy what to tell to the US emabssy during my interview he said tell them that Kazakhstan Emabssy only issuee to kzak nationals (i am not kazak national i only live 16 months there) so i am now confused what to do... as from my home country and the country now i am living i got the police certificates

Ammar,

Something you might want to try is to have the embassy for Kazakhstan where you are located issue you a letter stating that they do not issue police certificates to anyone who is not a Kazakh national. If you have the ability to pick up the letter personally then do so if not then perhaps have it faxed to you. If this fails, I would bring the phone number and name of of the person you talked with at the embassy who told you that they do not issue police certificates to anyone who is not a Kazakh, to the interview. I would give this phone number to the person who interviews you so that they can call to verify with the Kazakhstan embassy that what you have told him or her is true.
