I need to travel while my I-751 is being processed, but before the expiry date on my Permanent Resident card. Do I need to file for some kind of Advance Parole, or any other document?

The relevant dates are:

Sept. 13th, 2013 : I-751 sent in mail

Sept. 14th, 2013: Form received at Vermont Center, USCIS
Sept. 17th, 2013: Check cashed by Vermont Center, USCIS
Oct. 1st, 2013: Leave U.S
Oct. 16th, 2013: Return back to U.S
Nov. 15th, 2013: Expiry date on 2 year Permanent Resident Card.
thanks!

1. It is before the expiry date so it is okay.

2. Your NOA1 extends your status fora year. It is important you get and keep that paper. You can travel with expired GC + original letter after your GC expires, while the ROC is pending.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

If you are returning before 11/15/13, just go with your GC. However you will definitely get your NOA before 10/01/13, so take it also with you, just in case of need.
