is it possible that I can go to the states meanwhile??

and come back to belgium to give the last document they need ?

me ( the benificiary) and my fiance ( the petitioner) we live both in belgium the petitioner is american though but born and raised in belgium

we were planning to move to the states together but I was wondering if they would make any problem of this at the airport ??

guess youll need to stay in your country but who knows ?!!.... And for the mean time why not try to call the embassy and tell straight about your queries? Me, I'll try to call them on my exact 7th days to ask them straight either. Coz none of us can tell, neither them,on how long exactly it will take. If I were you to have some peace of mind just call them and to enlighten you what you should do while waiting to get done w/ the process.

You are posting in the wrong section. You are still on the K-1 process not AOS which is done when arleady moved and married in US.

You will experience same issues with getting into US on tourist visa as you would any other time. Have to convince the officer you will go back to Belgium so there is risk involved I guess but many did it while awaiting K-1 approval.

It is not where I breathe but where I love that I live.

  • 4 weeks later...

I got a 221g at my interview in Brussels too, issue about the income. They said that'd contact me back next week and if I wanted my pasport back. I took it, but don't know why they offered. Not sure if that's a bad or good thing..

Because not everyone has the luxury of finding enough funds due to personal matters.
Like in my case, my fiance & his family would have more than enough to support me, but in August/Septmber 2012 hurricane Isaac destroyed their house so they had to rebuild. Which means way lower income than normal and difference in tax returns.

If we filed a year earlier, or later for that matter, then it would've been different.

So there is nothing to do about that, than just go to the interview and try to explain your case with supporting documentary.
