Hello VJ members!

Just wanted to express my gratitude for sharing all of your stories which certainly helped my AOS application and initial interview. I want to share my story with the aim to help somebody who may be going through the same thing.

A little background, I am the beneficiary and my husband is the petitioner. My immigration background starts from H1B to F1 to H1B then green card obtained through marriage. We hired a lawyer.

Tiemeline

May: prior to submitting everything, we went to Los Angeles for the i- 693. make sure they answer every question plus complete the vaccination form, or else during your interview they will have to let you get this completed.

Last week of May- Early first week of June. Submitted all forms + i693 in a sealed envelope to our lawyer. And he took over from there

2nd wk of June: receipt notice for 130,485, 765, 131 received.

3rd wk of June: biometrics notice received, our appt is at el monte 2nd wk of July.

4th wk of June: we went to los angeles office at wilshire, 1015 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 100 Los Angeles, CA 90017, for early walk-in, We arrived around 11am, showed the letter and our IDs. The security guard accepted us with no further questions asked. When I had my fingerprints scanned, some of them were pass, some were marked rescan/fail.. but the lady didn't say anything to me. Had me worried that i might fail my biometrics. I wanted to ask yet, I just wanted to leave. Piece of advice: make sure to ask if it shows fail or rescan! it is your application! Outcome was my biometrics passed, thank God. Reason I say I passed is because I heard no word or any problem regarding my fingerprints.

2nd week of August: no word about my application till the 2nd wk of Aug!. Received appointment notice for interview at 300 N Los Angeles St. Interview date is 2nd week of September.

3rd wk of August: USCIS case status checker states that they have mailed by EAD and travel document.

4th wk of August: received the EAD card and approval notices for 765 and 131

2nd wk of Sept: Interview time!! We arrived at 9am . Parked in a parking lot along temple street ($8 flat rate) Our appt time is at 1055. We fell in line anyway (waited 30-35 mins in line). Went up the 6th flr around 1010. We got seen at 1130. The officer asked us: How long have you been together? How did u meet, Why did you decide to get married? Was there a reception? Do you have any supporting documents of your marriage? After everything, she said she was gonna pass us AFTER we go back to the place where I had my 693 done to complete some of the sections the doctor didn't mark. (I KNOWWW).. yet she said shell wait for us today so that she can start processing my card. So we went back to the darned place, had it done, came back, paid another $8 for parking. After submitting the completed document, she gave me a letter that says i am now a Permanent Resident and my card should arrive in 60 days! Also, I have to come back in 2 years to remove conditions.

So far so good. I thank God for making the process so smooth with no problems. I hope this helps someone who is going through the same endeavor. Thanks.
