Arrived in the USA yesterday. All is right with the world now! BTW they reason I am posting this (rather than spending every available moment with him) is cos that wonderful fella of mine is making Enchiladas for us....*salivates* :thumbs:

Cincinnati was a great POE, for anyone who is interested. Went up to the Immigration Officer, handed him our passports and yellow envelopes. He then said "getting married or married?". I said "Getting married". He then took fingerprints, asked my son if he was looking forward to going to school here, stamped the I-94s and then we were done. Took all of about 3 minutes!

Anyway, better go, got some drywall to put up.... :lol:

K-1/K-2 AOS APPROVED IN ATLANTA MAY 17, 2006

10 year GC Approved - APRIL 16th ,2009 - Peggy and Jonathan's......

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

That's good news - glad to see you got there safely and without any hiccups. Hope the cats didn't mind flying too much and are settling in ok as well! (After reading about you taking your cats with you, that was the first thing I thought when I saw this post!) :)

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

Ah yes the kitties. Well, they survived very well, thanks for asking! Got to Gatwick and at the check in desk they were taken away so that the carriers could be x-rayed. Once we had boarded the plane they were brought to us and we put them under the seats for take off.

Both of them seemed to settle down very well and slept for most of the way. I shoved my hand into the top of the carriers once in a while and made a fuss of them. There were no accidents either. I had put a whole newspaper in the base of each carrier to absorb any potential mishaps though. Just in case..... :blush:

Once we got to Cincy, they just stayed with my son and I the whole time. For security I had to take each cat out of the carrier, walk through the gate with it (whilst the carrier went through the x-ray machine), place the cat back in the carrier, then go back through the security gate and do the same for the other one.

They weren't going to let me do that at first, because apparently they aren't supposed to let you back in. But once I explained that I didn't trust my son to hold a cat securely and that they may have a panicked cat racing around if he got free, they said it was okay.... :lol:

Then of course all the security officers came over and made a fuss of the cats and said how cute they were! Yes, they WERE mostly female officers.... ;)

That was that!

I have to say that the last time I came through Cincy, the Immigration and Security Officers were very gruff and, quite honestly, scary. This time though they were really nice, pretty chatty (for a USA Immigration Officer!) and I felt pretty relaxed about it all.
