Correct, they did it even though I indicated in the I130 that my wife will interview at a consulate. Set me back $200 more to file I824.

Our I129F reached VSC several weeks after I130 started rolling, yet I got NOA2 emails for both on the same day. I think it's safe to say that they're actively combining these applications to process together.

The $200 money order I had to send with the I-824, telling them to forward the case to NVC, should have made it sweet enough.

For those people who are indicated as having a RETAINED I-130 on riblets table..... did your NOA2 specifically indicate that the I130 will be retained?....did it use that exact word or are you assuming that it was because an I129 was approved simultaneously?

I'm confused as to whether or not I have to send in the I824.

Both my I129 & I130 were approved on December 14, 2006. The I129 was forwarded to the NVC but God only knows when the NVC will receive my I130. I call everyday and have emailed a couple of times.....I haven't received any replies to the emails and when I inquired over the phone about the new policy of retaining the I130's according to the press release, the customer service reps had absolutely NO IDEA what I was talking about.....it is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ridiculous & frustrating.

Should I send the I824 or not?

M&N - from what we have seen, the NOA2 for the I130 has specifically stated that the petition was being retained and if the NOA2 did not state that it hasn't been.

Please fill in your timeline, it really helps you and everyone else!
