I agree with ashydad.

Treat each form as a separate application and provide appropriate evidence for each. It will seem redundant but assume that different people are going to read and evaluate them so naturally, you will need to provide proof for each application separately.

Agree with that.

Always assume they will pick your files apart.

This is the 21st century though. We got Internet, iPhones, Skype and Facebook. Surely the government agency must have copiers.

I made only one copy for the three forms and one set of passport photos. That worked for me as they combine the 765 and 131 onto one card when it is issued. Your milage may vary though.................reading.gif

Thank you! I would seriously like to see a few more of these answers.

Yes, but don't assume they will do this work for you. They provide the list of requirements in there for a reason. They cannot and in most cases will not make copies of evidences for the hundreds of case folders that come into each office. I would make it as easy as possible for the evaluating officer to read your application or risk putting yourself at a disadvantage.

Yes, I agree I sent overlapping copies of everything. Always best to provide more than not enough. It's a huge pain in the butt as I spent nearly $80 on multiple copies of passport photos alone. Keep in mind you do not need certified copies of marriage certificates, I sent in color photocopies of all my documents and did not recieve any RFEs. In fact, I received notification today tat my EAD and AP card has been mailed to me. It's annoying to do all the work for the agency, but I would rather take the time now and submit a complete package than go through the hassle of responding to an RFE.

Adjustment of Status after Marriage:

August 9, 2013 - Package received by USCIS

August 14, 2013 - NOA received for all 4 forms and checks cashed

Septemeber 11, 2013 - Biometrics Appointment

September 20, 2013 - I-485 Status changed to testing and interview

September 25, 2013 - Notification that interview has been scheduled for October 28, 2013

October 4, 2013 - Notification that I-131 has been approved!!!!

October 4, 2013 - Birthday updated on Form I-765

October 16, 2013 - I-765 EAD card in production!!!!

October 21, 2013 - I765- EAD and I-131 card has been mailed!

If you read the instructions there really is hardly any overlap. Overlap on photos, yes. Not marriage certs, though, or BCs. Not sure what you are reading.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
