Advice needed on next step (already have 1-129f noa2 but now married)

Hi everyone,

To cut along story short - myself and my fiance booked our wedding for 7th September 2013 in the US a while ago however we naively only filed for our K1 visa back in Janury 2013. We stuck with it in the hope we would be fortunate to receive the Visa before the wedding however despite receiving the noa2 on july 5th we simply did not have enough time to book the medical and interview before the wedding so we left the K1 I-129f stagnant for now.

Well anyway we are now happily married and I am back in the UK, and I called the USCIS to discuss the next options and they advised filing the I-130 or if I want to be with my wife quicker to file the I-130 then an I-129f for a K3.

We are just in the process of filing the I-130 and leaving the K3 as I've read that it can take just as long as leaving the I-130 but I'm just wondering if there is any way our existing I-129f approval can be tied up to a new I-130 turning this into a K3 or would that not work??

We are quite happy to just leave it and file an I-130 for the CR-1 but if the existing approved I-129f can indeed be quickly turned into a K3 we would jump at that.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

May 3, 2011: Received NOA1 hardcopy in mail
July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

yeah.. ryan is correct :(

I wanted to do the same, but am now in final stages of my 130

the good news is that you should not pay any attention to the current stats of 130's which are taking almost a year to process now.. new facility coming online will pull the plug on the blockage
