Fastest biometrics ever?

Now, first of all, we live in a state with a population of only 1.6 million and only the northern half of the state goes to the Albuquerque office (the southern half of the state goes to El Paso, TX) but ...

G's biometrics appointment was yesterday at 9 am but since we only have one car he dropped me off at work at 8 am, drove there, got there at 8:05, sat in the car and finished his coffee, got out of the car at 8:10. He was fourth in line and as soon as he checked in, went into the men's room ... and when he came out, they were waiting for him! He was back in the car and driving away at 8:35. He made it to work at 8:50 after having asked for the whole morning off.

(Which is good, because we're buying a house, and he's already having to take off next Monday afternoon for the inspection and then two days next week for us to fly back to the East Coast to see my family, plus closing at the end of the month ... and he's only had this job for two months and they're not happy about all the time off he's taking.)

For anyone who's wondering, the whole appointment was just photo, signature capture, and fingerprints; less involved than the AOS biometrics.

Anyway. Twenty-five minutes from getting out of the car to getting back in. Going once ... going twice ...

Ours was about the same speed. Since I wasn't watching the clock too closely, I won't claim it was faster, but it might have been. It wasn't more than 10 minutes slower, anyway. Like yours, we had an 8:00am appointment, and were finished well before 9:00.

I can probably claim the fastest biometrics as I was the only one in the office. I do live in a tiny state with a population of less than 700,000. Mine was less than 10mins though I stayed in the office to ask other questions. Whenever I visit the office there is never anyone there. The security guard must get very bored. :reading:

Ours doesn't even have a security guard, apparently.

Wow that is odd! I thought every government building has one. Who lets them in and takes the letter and stuff? They even have an x-ray machine in the waiting room which takes up more than half of it. Thing is, you're already in the building, so putting stuff through the x-ray machine kind of defeats the purpose. The security guard can never be arsed to turn on the x-ray, so uses his plastic ruler to poke through your files instead.

We had our biometrics today. Total time inside the building was a little less than 10 minutes. No waiting, no fuss, no muss, no problems.

Cheers!

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.
