What passport stamp?

When you enter at the POE as a K-1 visa holder (probably all foreign arrivals) the Immigration Officer will stamp the passport, and write in the expiration date, and class of admission I think, you'll need that to print out the I-94 later. At least, that's what I think. I'll know for sure on the 25th!

Only if they exit the terminal area. If they are transiting through and only changing aircraft... no stamp.

If they don't exit the terminal area then they won't be entering the country.

once again in most cases if you are not required to get your passport stamped you will not have to check and re-check your bags

The one that I found to be a pain in the butt was Shanghai, China. They required us to claim our bags, clear customs, get stamps, clear customs again, and re-check bags - all for a "simple" flight transition. We did switch airlines, but it still seemed excessive to me since we never left the building. It used up every bit of our almost 3 hour layover. I've not had to do that for a layover anywhere else (unless it was U.S. POE).

Thanks for all the info guys. Sounds like as long as my baggage makes it through Tokyo just fine without me, I am good to go.

Flying out this Saturday. Interview will be the first Wednesday of October. :)

Hahaha, thanks. I did have that carryon suitcase literally bursting at the seams my last trip lol. But yeah, I managed to get a weeks worth of clothing in there (for two weeks - wore everything twice lol), along with basic toiletries, my shaver, a few small gifts. I was pretty amazed myself lol.
