Hi I wonder if anyone can help me. I had my medical 3 weeks ago but the form were sent to the embassy on Friday. My update says :

Case creation date: 18 July 2013

Status updated date: 20th August 2013 and says my case is ready for an interview. Does anyone know roughly how long it takes to get an interview and how I will find out when it is? Thank guys this waiting game is no fun!x

It took them 5 working days from logging my forms to getting a date over the phone, so fingers crossed this week all be your week :)

On the tube into Central London now for my interview. Excited and nervous as expected. Zero sleep last night, wasn't a nice 2 hour drive at 5am to Hillingdon, but here now and should be in the queue at 8:30am.

Wish me luck guys!!

My fiance had his medical on the 3rd of September, so we waited for weeks and heard nothing...called DoS last Thursday and they told me his interview is October 21, and his letter was sent out the day before I called. Sometimes you just gotta be patient. ClockWatch2.gif

Does anyone know if the US gov shutdown is going to affect the processing of visas in the UK? I just read 'Under the shutdown, national parks and Washington's Smithsonian museums will close, pension and veterans' benefit cheques will be delayed, and visa and passport applications will go unprocessed' On the BBC website. It fills me with dread!

According to the London embassy website, they do not anticipate being affected.

At this time, any U.S. government shutdown will not affect Embassy London operations.

The Embassy and Consular section do not anticipate a disruption to services beginning 1st October 2013.

Our Consulates-General in Belfast and Edinburgh will also remain open.

We will update this notice as needed.

I guess all we can do is keep an eye on things, see if that changes for however long this goes on for...

Visa approved biggrin.png

Congrats!

Regarding the shutdown, this was Visajourney's facebook status this morning:

''The Department of State confirmed that consular operations domestically and overseas will remain 100% operational as long as there are sufficient fees to support operations. However, this is only expected to last for a few days, after which consular posts will focus solely on diplomatic services and emergency services for American citizens. There will be delays in processing visas, and if there is a prolonged shut down, we expect a cessation of visa processing. During previous shutdowns, business reasons have not qualified for emergency visa processing."

Joining the waiting room!

Packet 3 forms sent August 29

Packet 3 forms logged September 6

I received an reply email from the embassy and a CEAC update on September 27 stating we needed to wait 4 weeks from the log date...so this Friday! But nothing yet.

We filed our petition back in December so it's been a long long wait! Hopefully good news on Friday :)
