hey we got our interview date today. very strange goings on - I only sent the necessary letter from g.p to knightsbridge doctors on Monday afternoon and apparently on the very same day, the embassy scheduled my appointment and sent out the letter. today my fiancé called the department of state to check (we were not expecting an interview so quickly) and we were told our interview has been scheduled for the 20th November, with the letter sent out on Monday 4th! low and behold there was an interview letter waiting for me when I came home from work. who knew the embassy could be this efficient?

It's kind of selfish of me but I'm getting pretty bummed out seeing people get their interview dates so quickly. While I am happy for those of you getting your interview dates set so quickly (1 day!?) after your medical I cant help but feel it is unfair to people like me who have been waiting since the end of September and still don't have an interview date.

I recieved my NOA2 on 26/09, sent documents on 27/09 and had medical on 28/09. My CEAC status was updated on 2/10 and DOS have confirmed that my documents were received & processed that day. The CEAC status was updated again on 23/10 but no one can tell me why. I called the DOS again today and they confirmed no interview has been scheduled yet. I'm slightly concerned because my USCIS decision expires on 25/11 and I don't really know what happens if I don't have an interview before that.

So very tired of waiting now. Hopefully something happens soon...

I got my letter today for my interview on the 26th. Whats weird is the letter is dated for Monday the 4th, the day before I had my medical, as I had that on Tuesday and sent some extra doctors notes to Knightsbridge on Wednesday. I have no idea how that's happened but I'm definitely not going to complain. I hope everyone waiting on their date gets some news soon! I feel kind of guilty its happened so fast when others have had to wait a long time. Good luck to everyone!

AOS/EAD Timeline:

04/24/2014: AOS/EAD forms submitted

This is definitely the worst part of it. I totally feel you on how awful it is waiting - I found it exhausting, stressful and draining. But it will happen!

Have you tried contacting the embassy via their contact form on the embassy website? I found calling the DOS only did so much because they don't actually schedule the interviews. Maybe e-mail them expressing your concern that its taking so long? When I wrote to them I said I was worried because I wanted to be with my fiance for Christmas, I had an interview date a few days later.

Best of luck!!!!!

If your petition expires before the interview date, you need to have the petitioner send you a new Letter of Intent that is notarized to re-validate it.

Some people are being approved quickly it seems, but current wait times up until now have been 5-6 weeks. Maybe they've sped up some but I fear these quick ones are just flukes or oddities, as can happen with all things immigration.

Would they need to mail the letter? Or could they send something via email? Again concerned that mail from America can be unpredictable and take longer than expected.

Needs to be mailed, have original signature, AND be notarized.

I'd have one sent now with a current date, just in case. You can pick the slower delivery, and getting things notarized is free at most banks.

They scheduled our interview for 1 DAY after the expiration of the petition, and will only a few days notice, I had to pay $50 to get it there on time.

I really hope your interview is scheduled quickly. I understand your frustration - our noa2 got stuck in nvc for two months. we received it dated july 4th in early September. we then had hold ups with medical information. its such a hard process of waiting. wishing you a interview date very soon:)

Same exact thing happened with our application! We got our NOA2 email in July but never received the letter until September (dated July). Now we've been waiting almost 6 weeks again. It sucks because everything we read says it goes much faster once things are with the embassy.

Congratulations on getting your interview date! Good luck with everything!

Yeah.. we were expecting this to be the "quick" part too and it definitely hasn't been. We had a CEAC update on the 23rd of Oct so I was hopeful it'd be about the interview date.. but as of Friday's call to the DoS nothing has been scheduled. In hindsight, I wish I wouldn't have read the projected timeline on here because it REALLY got our hopes up that things would move quick after a certain point! It's especially challenging to go through this with children eagerly waiting (and the holidays..).

Hi all

I spoke to Knightsbridge Doctor on Friday 8th November they told that the file was going on that day to the embassy. biggrin.png

I have a question and that is my NOA2 is good until the 27 December should my Fiance look to get a notarized statement of intent to marry or should we just leave it till a closer time to end date of our NOA2.

It could always be popped in the mail to you the slow way for around a dollar, and then you have it. Plus dong now beats the Christmas mailing season.

Finally got an interview date! DoS said nothing yesterday. Today Steven got an email and his interview is TOMORROW morning. The only snafu we have is his subject access report hasn't arrived though he has proof of ordering it. He has a caution for a minor issue (squabble with a guy and ####### him a few years ago). From what I've seen it looks like it'll just hold up his approval by a few days while they wait to get it. He's calling in sick to work and we're doing a final review of our stuff today. Whew.. so glad that by this time tomorrow it'll be done!
