Another weekend of waiting... another Monday that brings no news. Anyone else feel like they're going INSANE with this waiting? They've had all our forms for over a month now. Can't concentrate on anything else!!!

I feel your pain....I am waiting for the interview date for my spouse...We are F2A and our request to expedite the visa interview was accepted by the US embassy London so they will arrange the interview date instead of NVC. CEAC visa status check is showing ready since 30th Oct but still no visa interview date.

And at 6PM I get an email from the visa info unit at the consulate that my interview is NEXT THURSDAY.

When it doesn't rain it pours?

Try e-mailing them via the contact form on the embassy website, that's what I've been doing. SEEMS to have worked...

Good luck!!!!!!

hi everyone,

now finally in the queue too! hoping we are given an interview before Christmas! did I read correctly that you can sign up for email notifications? I am not sure if I have done this and reading some of your experiences regarding letters not been sent out to late in the day, this sounds like a good idea :)

There isn't an email notification system you can sign up for (as far as I'm aware) but once my paperwork had been with the embassy for a few weeks I started e-mailing them via the contact form on the website to make sure they'd got the forms etc. I e-mailed them last week this way saying that I was worried about getting to the US for Christmas, and today they responded to it saying my appointment had been issued and the letter sent out today. Not sure if they did this because I've only got a ten day window though!

Hope you get your interview sooonn!!!

Just as a note on that - when I emailed the consulate they said I should expect my interview date from when they logged my forms, not from when I had the medical (which was a week after). So it might be worth trying an initial email via the contact form on the embassy website just to "confirm" politely that they have everything in hand?

It says on the website that if your query is answered on the website you wont get a reply. I tried phrasing my initial inquiry as a "checking all the paperwork is in order" - don't know if that approach was responsible for them getting back to me as quickly as they did, but anything is worth a try!

Hi I have just realized there are 2 CEAC logins, one that takes the LND number and one with the Nonimmigrant visa confirmation number with the barcode. (from filling out the DS-160 online)

There are 2 options, Immigrant visa and Non immigrant visa from the drop box. I can login into both but each say different things. I am waiting for an interview date.

Which do I pay attention to?

For anyone waiting to hear about an interview date from London, call the DOS on +1 202 485 7600 and choose option 1 and then option 0. I called today to be told that my husband's interview had been scheduled for LAST week at the London embassy (the notice was sent out apparently exactly 7 days before the interview date) and he was marked as a "no-show". We never received the notice and the CEAC site status never changed from ready. In fact, on the same date the letter was apparently sent to us, we got an email from the embassy saying that they got all of our docs and we would hear in 4 weeks. Our lawyer (we used a lawyer for this process) called the London embassy 3 days after the letter was apparently sent out and was told no interview had been set up yet. Now after 10 weeks of waiting since my husband had the medical, we have missed the interview! This is devastating as we were expecting to be back in the US by now - we have sold our house and are living in a hotel, and we both have jobs lined up that we are meant to start ASAP. I will be fine, but I think now, unless we get a quick rescheduling, my husband's job offer will be pulled and given his profession, it will be hard for him to find another job as they are few and far between. So, please, for your own sake, contact the DOS or email the embassy to make sure you don't find yourself in this same situation. Good luck.

Yes, their letters are often sent right before the interview and you get them after the fact. The only safe way to handle it is this: once you have your medical and all forms submitted, call DOS and ask if they are showing an interview and if they are showing all forms in. They should tell you no interview and forms are showing ready for interview assignment. Then, every single time CEAC shows AN UPDATE DATE CHANGE (not a wording change, but a date change), call DOS and ask them what the update was for. Make sure you do this a day or two after the update, as DOS may not have the full info untl that day's update is completed.

Of course, the easy way for these goofballs to fix this problem is to have you be able to see your interview date when you log in at CEAC for status, but this is too simple . . . .

Well today marks 6 weeks since I sent my DS-2001 in. I'm limiting myself to calling DOS once a week so will do that tomorrow. Monday will be 6 weeks since the final form was actually logged so there's still a chance I'll hear something before then, but I'm getting pretty fed up now.

We called the DOS yesterday and found out, surprisingly, I have my interview on 20th November. My forms & medical were received on 10th October, and case was updated on 27th & 28th October.

So all in all I suppose I'm bang on average, though the lack of (proactive) communication is unsettling.

Question: Supposing the Package 4 letter never arrives, what should I do about paying the Visa/Courier fees?
