Untrue. Chinese have been coming to this country since the 19th-century. Mexicans have been living in this country (part of it was Mexico) for a few hundred years. You may have forgotten about the people who were brought here by force from Africa, and their descendants. Irish weren't considered Europeans, or at least the "good type," Italians either. Now no one bats an eye at Italian or Irish immigrants.

Cite some of this research, I doubt its validity.

Of course we have had limited very immigration from "other than european countries" (historically speaking).

That was primarily due to our Earliest immigration laws preventing non-european immigrants.

But your misunderstanding on the "historical demographics" of the country is typical of many people.

For instance when I was born, whites were nearly 90% of the population, (just a few decades ago) it's a stunning number yet true.

In other words this country was more homogenous racially than many other countries which we commonly think of as Hispanic or African or whatever.

But lets look at the numbers shall we and perhaps facts will enlighten you more than my words can.

This country has always been a White country with a Black minority and you can see that stable pattern existed throughout, it is the "other races" category which busted loose with the change in Immigration law 1965.... until they are soon dwarfing the Black population (and soon political influence).

Apparently, not all racists only have Twitter to push their racist views. Some of them are lucky enough to have a show on Fox News.

What you Tweet-quoted from the Fox reporter... Why is that racist??? He was simply stating a preference.

While I am not rooting for anyone in that pageant, I'd like to say this:

Here's the thing a lot of non-military folks don't usually understand... In the US military, there is no such thing as race. There is no such thing as different skin color or whether your parents immigrated from another country... You live on base and your curb has houses where probably five or six families with varying heritages live and peacefully coexist and can be friends.

Racist tweets are not something to be surprised about. A Hispanic-American kid sings the Star Spangled Bannner at a national game (A Spurs game to be exact) and inane comments on twitter ensue ("Why is a Mexican singing our song?")

I'd rather be aghast at organized groups acting on their racist philosophies (neo-Nazists for example) rather than trolls who have nothing better to do with their lives on twitter.

First of all the experiment of broadening the "diversity" beyond Europe is relatively new, a few decades old, so lets not clap our hands so quickly especially when you consider housing and life social patterns.

Research shows "diversity more than any other factor" causes social disconnect.... despite the myths that abound.

SInce most immigrants are from third-world countries and are more likely than the average citizen to be on the dole, I doubt they their meager contribution to SSI is even off setting their Gift from the "earned income tax credit"... assuming they work.

I don't mean to be overly negative on the subject but when the myths are repeated with religious fervor a little balance is needed.

Again Diversity at best.... is meaningless and so often a divider not a uniter.

First of all, the word "third world" is so 1990s. The terms are now developed and developing countries.

Diversity is another one of those social terms that only exist because some Americans choose to be overly politically correct. Having diversity alone is not a divider, because it is only a social construct. The existence of diversity among a people that have nothing but preformed ill notions of people different from their skin color or their background... That's when a people are divided.
