what makes a nation strong is unity of purpose, common goals, work ethics, integrity, compassion, justice and the rule of law and the freedom to achieve your dreams and be rewarded.

Diversity for the sake of diversity does not inherently make Nations strong. BUT, different points of view and thinking tends to be a good thing when working towards a common goal. Perhaps the going will be slower but the end product should be more thorough.

Never met anyone who didn't like pizza!

When I have to organize lunch meetings here at work, pizza and sandwiches are the easiest because you're guaranteed that 30+ people all like pizza and sandwiches.

You must work with all white people.

Nothing wrong with Diversity. I organized a birthday party last night , that had 4 races 5 nationalities and was a hoot.

However somehow thinking it is what makes are nation strong is utter progressive hoarse feathers.

what makes a nation strong is unity of purpose, common goals, work ethics, integrity, compassion, justice and the rule of law and the freedom to achieve your dreams and be rewarded.

That is why when you join the Military conformity is so important. The team being more important than the individual.

America use to be called the great melting point in which we all assimilated

No it's seems the progressives want us all to have our own pot

Diversity..It's a great Buzz Word, but it's ludicrous to think it makes us strong.

The brilliancy of America is that people can have common goals and a common ethos, despite being from diverse backgrounds. Few other countries are able to achieve this, in fact.

Uniformity doesn't have to be about how you look.

All these immigrants and this "diversity" pays for your Social Security, I hope you know.

Actually your wrong, if you read what the pageant claims in the ideal candidate you might see that.

Okay, so I just read the Miss American website. No where does it say the candidate is chosen by who is the "most typically American-looking."

So, it appears you haven't read what the pageant claims is the ideal candidate.

It says this (which is a quote from the founder, 75 years ago or something): "Miss America represents the highest ideals. She is a real combination of beauty, grace, and intelligence, artistic and refined. She is a type which the American Girl might well emulate."

It says this: She is a woman who reflects a tradition of style, sophistication and service.

Don't disagree with that at all.

We have a local college. The oldest women s college in the nation. They go to great lengths to travel the corners of the world to find students. I am ok with that.

However when they make statements like diversity is our greatest asset and our number one goal, I scratch my head.

That's just silly.

The "racists tweeters" are so ignorant I can't even get riled up over them.

People who think that Indian-AMERICANS are Arab Muslims (Sidenote: only 15% of Muslims are Arab) just because they have darker skin and come from "one of those countries over there" have such a dearth of understanding of, you know, the entire world, that all I can do it laugh and feel sorry for them.

And Penny Lane, you must not be from Milwaukee.

First of all the experiment of broadening the "diversity" beyond Europe is relatively new, a few decades old, so lets not clap our hands so quickly especially when you consider housing and life social patterns.

Research shows "diversity more than any other factor" causes social disconnect.... despite the myths that abound.

SInce most immigrants are from third-world countries and are more likely than the average citizen to be on the dole, I doubt they their meager contribution to SSI is even off setting their Gift from the "earned income tax credit"... assuming they work.

I don't mean to be overly negative on the subject but when the myths are repeated with religious fervor a little balance is needed.

Again Diversity at best.... is meaningless and so often a divider not a uniter.
