My bad again...the article stated "Aaron Alexis of Fort Worth, left the Navy in 2011"

I for some strange reason thought that "of Fort Worth" meant he lived in Texas.

Alexis' biographical data from the Navy gave his home of record as New York City. He enlisted May 5, 2007 and was an aviation electrician’s mate 3rd class/AE3.He spent time in Texas and Illinois before leaving the service in January 2011.

I discharge in Texas all the time. I'm not talking about firearms.

Ah, the shooter was a gun aficionado. Who would have guessed it? Good guy with a gun. Until he turn bad. Like all the rest of them.

And they have easy access to the weapons to do it with. The NRA makes sure of that.

Let's see Twice arrested for shooting at people, same guy penetrates two layers of armed security in a place guns are strictly banned, inside of a place they are even more strictly banned and kills 12 people before police can stop him.

Oh yes more laws and security would have stopped him.

Sorry but his is exactly why I choose to be armed.

I wonder if he'll mention that when he talks about this incident.

And yet no problem getting his hands on firearms. In fact, it is reported that he carried regularly despite these incidents. Just the way the NRA likes it. Another membership drive successfully orchestrated.

Probably why in 2002 he gave up his residence in NYC, and decided to make Texas his new residence.

Quite possible. They let any idiot run around with a firearm in Texas. What could possibly go wrong, eh?

Odd i thought this happened in the Gun Control capital of the world, on a Base that was protected by armed guards with a weapon stolen from a secure Govt facility

Yes blame it on Texas and the NRA?

So anyone who lives in Texas needs to be born there in order for anyone to claim they are from Texas? Ok got it.

What other hairs can we split on this subject? Since he gave his home as NYC...did he just grow up there or was he born in NYC.

So when George Bush claimed he was from Texas, he was actually lying because he was born in Connecticut? Where did that accent come from? Was it from a class at Yale?
